Ladies, my husband's aunt has been quite ill (but being successfully treated) for much of the year, and took a turn for the worse a week or two ago. She has been on life support since Thanksgiving, and everyone was hoping she could hold on. All treatments have been exhausted, and the decision has been made to remove her from life support tomorrow, giving everyone a chance to say goodbye today. These situations are always hard, and the bittersweetness of life has been even more clear this weekend, as my H's sister was married on Saturday just a few miles from the hopsital in which her aunt is being treated.
My husband's aunt was a great woman who led a remarkable life, and was always the first to thank Jesus for all her blessings. She immigrated with her husband and children to the United States from Egypt, and even though she was a degreed engineer, worked in fast food restaurants for years to provide for her family when they moved to the US. I have no doubt that god will welcome her into his arms tomorrow, but her impending passing is a real loss to all who knew her. If there is any room in your prayers for her safe passage, and comfort and peace for her husband, children, and grandchild, I would appreciate anything you can offer.
