Altar Servers?

Hello again!

So I've been going over the planning worksheet the music liturgy gave me for our nuptial mass, and it asked me who our altar servers were going to be. As far as FI and I know, none of our friends or family are altar servers. I do know we will have at least 2 priests at the wedding. Do we need to find altar servers, or will our church (our newman center) find some since we don't know anyone?

The worksheet is just a standard template. Best talk to your priest about your specific situation. If you need an altar server and you don't have any family or friends in mind, they'll probably help you find one from the community.

    Ditto ring_pop.

Our altar servers were the 2 sons of one of our friends from church. However, if you don't have someone in mind, the church should be able to help you find a few. Just remember to tip them $25 or so.

Yeah, the wedding coordinator at our church told us she would find altar servers from the parish if we didn't have anyone specific in mind... but yes, tip them each $15-$25 afterwards.

Ditto! We were told that too, but we're having my godson and nephew as our alter servers.

We were able to choose if we wanted to pick certain alter servers, or just have the Church provide them.  Friends of my mom have sons that are alter servers, so we plan on asking them if them would like to do it.

We didn't have altar servers at all. When we were planning and asked our priest about them, he said that he would do everything and we didn't need them. You might ask your priest if you need them, especially since you don't have anyone in mind and the fact that you will have two priests.

Our priest said he didn't need any altar servers so we won't be having any. Ask your priest if he requires it.

Your Eucharist ministers could serve, or if there will be a deacon presiding is another idea.
