Greek Crowns in our Catholic Ceremony

Hi everyone,

I initially posted this question in the interfaith area, and was directed to come here for a possible answer!

My fiance is Catholic and I am Greek Orthodox. We are getting married in a Catholic church (ceremony without mass), and want to incorporate the Greek crown tradition into our ceremony. The priest has already agreed to this, but he has never done it before, so I'm looking for advice as to how it's done! When would it be incorporated? What is the priest's role? Can my maid of honour do the crown switching 3 times?
If any of you have any idea what I'm talking about, I'd appreciate your input!

Your priest ought to contact a Ukrainian-Rite Catholic priest. Ukrainian Catholics also incorporate crowns into their wedding ceremonies

If you're Greek orthodox why don't you put him in contact with your priest? Also, the two churches recognize each other's ceremonies so if that's the reason for not having a mass, you can!

I've been to a Russian Orthodox ceremony, and the crown switching was so pretty! I ditto PPs -- have your FI's Catholic priest contact your Greek Orthodox priest and ask how it should be incorporated. My suggestion would be to do the crowns at the part of the Mass where you would normally do them during the Orthodox ceremony. 

I'd also suggest putting a note in your programs (if you're having them), or having the priest explain what's happening, just so your guests know what's going on. And also, honestly, so that they know which part of the ceremony comes from which faith.

I wasn't going to do programs for our wedding until FI's entire family flung a fit, claiming, "We won't know what to do with all that Latin." There is no Latin in my wedding.
