thanks to everyone who was thinking and praying for FI's grandma. The funeral was lovely and heartbreaking. There was a viewing the Friday night, and the funeral was Saturday. The burial is today but we won't be there for it.
It was a Catholic funeral (never been to one before) and in French. I was happy that I could at least follow along the order of things so I knew what parts we were at.
It was so hard standing there watching FI and his brothers and father cry. I'm so sad for them all. She was 91 years old
We will be putting something in our program and in the Prayers of the Faithful during the ceremony for her and those that have passed before.
My aunt is now having radiation treatment done for her cancer. She is in rough shape and she's not sure she'll be able to make it to the wedding. I've been crying randomly for the past week. She is my godmother and we wanted her to do a reading at the ceremony.
She cried when I told her I was praying and had a lot of friends praying as well. she wouldn't let go of my hand the entire time I was there. She cried when she said she keeps thinking of the one passage "The Lord said you shall be healed" (anyone know what passage that is???)
She isn't in as good a spirits as she was. She doesn't think she'll be able to make it to the wedding and she said she didn't want to do a reading which is understandable. She currently has no use of her left hand and has trouble talking.
If I could I would be up there every weekend to see her. Sadly we're 3 hours away
