TGIT!!!

What's everyone up to today?  Anything exciting going on?

I'm really excited for this weekend.  It's one week closer to being married!!!  I've got a few fun plans, and I'm really looking forward to it.

I have my 3rd Creighton appt tomorrow.  I'm anxious to see what she says -- I had my only day of stretchy CM yesterday....and then started my period yesterday.  I hadn't had any peak-type mucus all cycle.  What on earth is going on with me?!  I hope this all gets straightened out soon.  I really don't want to go on medication or anything, but I guess I will if I have to.

Re: TGIT!!!

  • That's so frustrating Resa, I'm sorry! Hopefully your instructor can shed some light on what is going on.  I have my 2nd follow-up as well tonight and I'm having trouble getting any mucus so I feel your frustration.  Anyway, I hope it all works out :o)

  • Thanks Shawna!  I'm in a lot of pain today, so that doesn't help lol!  Your wedding day is fast approaching!!!  How are you holding up?

  • Booking flights is such a pain.  =(

I've got a question for you East Coast girls.  H and I are going to Newport, RI for a wedding in October.  H is best man, and the bachelor party will be Thursday night.  I haven't heard anything about a bachelorette party, and I'm sure the bride would invite me if she knew I was going to be there, but I don't want to be a third wheel or anything.  One of my bridesmaids will be there, though, so I'm hoping we can spend some time together Thursday night while the boys are out bach-ing it up.  Any suggestions of things we should DEFINITELY do?

  • Nothing exciting today, but we have our tasting tomorrow for reception food - that should be fun!  We don't get to try as many options as we'd have liked, but it will be nice to have the menu chosen so there's one less thing to plan :)

I just had my third Creighton meeting (second follow-up) a few days ago.  It went pretty well, I had a lot less corrections than the last time, haha.  I haven't noticed any peak-type CM yet (did have some that was sticky/tacky, but no clear/stretchy/lubricative).  I'm trying not to worry TOO much about it, since I'm only a few months off of BCP and my instructor says that it might take up to 6 cycles for things to work themselves out.  My instructor didn't seem to worried about it either, so I'll just have to wait and see what happens the next few months.

The one thing I"m worried about missing is the lubricative sensation, but the book as well as my teacher have said that it's such an obvious sensation, that I'm assuming if I haven't noticed it at all yet, that's just because it hasn't been there at all.
  • Resa-  Periods are no fun at all :(
I'm getting really excited and I think we pretty much have everything ready to go!  It's crazy because it seemed like it was taking forever to get here and now I can't believe how fast time is going, it's crazy!  Are you feeling that yet?

  • Ahh, you know I love a good cervical mucus discuss ;) Resa - Nuts! Were you able to figure out when you ovulated at all? I was hopeful for you that Creighton would be the answer you were looking for. But I know you will get it all figured out!

  • Erin, definitely give it some time.  I think the first time I REALLY noticed wet CM was after we were married (I'd been off BCP for about 10 months), and I was so excited I nearly called H in to show him (he is happy I did not).

It definitely takes some time to really get to know your body and what's going on.

  • Tea-- I didn't have any peak-type mucus until yesterday, so if I ovulated, I think it would have been yesterday.  Weirdness.  I'll see what my instructor says.  I'm not even confident how to label each type yet.  I definitely need to look in the picture book again and ask a bunch of questions.

Shawna -- Right now it feels like time is inching along SO SLOWLY.  It's suddenly come to a standstill, almost.  Everyone has been saying "oh, all the sudden time will start flying!"  The funny thing is, the closer I get, the more it seems to drag!  I think once it's July, I'll start feeling like it's close.

I love Newport!! It's so beautiful! Honestly, you could spend the night roaming Thames street and the wharfs - lots of shops, restaurants, art galleries. I'm not sure how late the mansions are open, but I've seen them all (and some beind the scenes tours) so let me know if you want advice on which ones to see.

I did a B&B tour with some friends which was really interesting. Each night, certain B&Bs open up and offer tours. Some of them are more beautiful than the mansions!

Also - there might be some harbor tours you could do. Let me know if you need any specific recs for restaurants!
