Engaged Encounter Retreat

Just had to share....
We just got back from our church retreat and had a wonderful weekend. We were a little worried before, because we've been together for 11 years...what can we possibly learn about each other that we don't already know?
But it was truly a wonderful weekend. Even though some of the topics/questions discussed we had already figured out, we were able to re-connect and remember all those butterflies and sparks that we had in the "honeymoon stage" in the beginning of our relationship.
So the best part of the weekend? It helped us strengthen the foundation we already had in our relationship. Truly wonderful!
The couples also suggested we become a presenting couple...so who knows what the future holds. :)

Was this part of your pre-cana or just a retreat you two wanted to take? I'm glad you had a great time and maybe becoming a presenting couple would keep that spark and help others find it as well!

Yes, it's part of the requirements to get married in our church. But I think all engaged couples should go through something like this prior to getting married. There were a few there that really needed to work out some things before they walking down the aisle!

We did the Discovery Weekend and it was amazing.

We also went in scared and nervous.  We had heard all these warnings about how Pre Cana will make or break a couple.  We left feeling amazing and comfident about our future and our faith.

We also signed up to possibly become a presenting couple.  We also plan on participating in a 6 month weekend couples thing.

Did you do PRCD (personal reflection, couples dialogue)?
