Vendor Reviews - Reading, PA

Stokesay Castle - Ceremony/Reception Venue
A bit pricey, but worth every single penny. Their event coordinator is amazing and will help you with anything, and asks as a day of coordinator as well.  The staff was always willing to help, including tracking down a sewing kit for us while we were getting ready.  They're super flexible and will let your personalize any package, and even formulated a special signature cocktail just for us.

Lisa Stoudt Candy and Confections - Cake
Stokesay's preferred vendor (meaning they waive the cake cutting fee). Also a bit pricey, but the cake was awesome.  We were hoping to have figures on our cake, and she makes them super detailed and therefore super expensive, so when we found someone else to make the figures, she gladly put them on for us and even communicated with the other baker to make sure everything was perfect. She also recreates your top tier for you on your first anniversary, so no freezer burnt cake!

Gary Brendel of New Energy DJs - DJ
Gary was wonderful. He tracked down every song we wanted, even Jack Black's cover of Let's Get It On featured in the movie High Fidelity. He pretty much did whatever we wanted. He wasn't obnoxious, dressed professionally, and was affordable. I definitely recommend him.

Laura Reiger - Photographer (<--clicky)
Laura is just starting out, but she did a wonderful job.  She is very affordable, and will give you exactly the coverage you desire.  The pictures came our beautifully, both posed and candid shots.  She took the time to figure out exactly what we wanted, and even went to our venue with us so we could scope out the best spots for photos ahead of time.  I recommend her to anyone, but especially those on a budget and with a playful side!

Our photos if you're interested (ignore the one with the groomsmens' pants down. Yes, they insisted): http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1790477809516.2087944.1466730062&l=0265f4201e

Glad to hear your review on Stokesay!  We love that place, and were happy to hear that it had re-opened with new owners and lots of improvements!  Smile
