Decided to get Married @ the Courthouse

Hey everyone, I'm new here, but I was hoping someone might have some idea of how this goes...my fiance' and I have just decided to go to the courthouse instead of the whole big wedding thing (long story). This may sound a little silly, but my question is this: does anyone know who marries you and where exactly? I know we have to wait the three day waiting period after we get our marriage license, but I can't find any information on what to do to actually be married by a judge or whomever. Anyone who knows someone who maybe has done this before and can offer me some insight would be much appreciated –Smile TIA!

I don't know if it differs by County, but I know in Lancaster County, you would actually go to the District Justice to get married, not the Courthouse. You just call and make an appt with the office. My mom works for a DJ and they always love seeing the different kinds of weddings.

Thank you so much! We're in Lancaster, so that was perfect Smile

You can also do the new "self-uniting" thing that does not require a judge/minister, etc... just witnesses. Look into that if you would rather not have your actual ceremony in a courthouse but still want small and budget-friendly/low-drama/etc...
