All Inclusive Honeymoon

Hi ladies,

I was just wondering if any of you have been to an all-inclusive resorts and if so--what have you gone through and how did you like it? My fiance and I are booking soon (later than we probably should have) for our January honeymoon and we just want to be sure if we're investing money like that that we are going to a place that's worth it.

I would definitely recommend an AI! They are really great! FI and I just booked our honeymoon at an AI. We are staying at Secrets Maroma Beach in the Riviera Maya, Mexico. It looks amazing, the reviews are great and I can't wait to go! June can't come soon enough!

I think we are looking at Jamaica, but really we are open to different (warm) locations. Jamaica just seemed to be the cheapest of what we've seen.

Did you book it on your own or use a travel agent?

I used a travel agent, AAA. Some people think travel agents don't get you the best price but I checked the price the agent gave us, and a price on cheapcaribbean.com and the AAA price was actually lower! I think it just really depends. I liked using an agent because I ask a hundred questions and she answered all of them. Plus she has been to the area numerous times and was able to make suggestions on hotels and excursions.

We went to P*nta Cana, DR from July 2-9 this past summer.  It was AI and awesome!!

We did an AI in DR as well. We stayed at Majestic Elegance. It was great!  I can't wait to try another AI!!!!

AI makes everything easy...eat & drink whenever you want without tipping and without having to carry cash around. Some people say they're not worth it if you don't drink alcohol. My husband and I don't drink but it was tough to find a non-AI resort. We went to the Zoetry Paraiso de la Bonita in the Riviera Maya for our honeymoon.

I love the Iberostar resorts (been to the Bavaro resort twice to P*nta Cana) and we're planning on booking our honeymoon at the Iberostar Rose Hall Suites in Montego Bay Jamaica.  They also have some in Mexico.  Iberostar staff is amazing and so wonderful.  I book my vacations at beachdestinations.com or cheapcaribbean.com.  Good Luck!
