Tri-County Catering & Hess BBQ

I haven't used Tri-County but I looked into them and I wouldn't recommend them just based on how that went. I spoke with a guy via email and first off, his emails were very unprofessional - unfriendly and many, many mispellings.

Anyway I asked if there was a charge for a tasting and he said "no, because I am just giving you take out boxes and you can bring it home and heat it." Um...okay? He didn't ask what I wanted to taste either. I was weirded out by that, but decided to still go to the "tasting" anyway. I made an appointment and my fiance' and I drove 45 minutes away for it. We got there 5 minutes before our appt. time and NO ONE was there. The lights were off, doors were locked...No one was in sight. So we ended up waiting 10 more minutes and no one came.  This is even after I confirmed the date and time with him.

They were a complete waste of time. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

Yikes - that doesn't sound promising!  They were friendly on the phone this morning too...darn.

Do you have any info on other caterers that you checked out?  I'm not from the area, but am getting married in Lancaster.  I would really appreciate any guidance with caterers, if you could provide any!!

Weddings by Hess' is FANTASTIC!!  There BBQ is the best and they are very professional and put on a darn nice buffet!!  I've been at several weddings they have done and I would highly recommend them!   Yum!

I just met with them last weekend and decided to use them for my June 2011 wedding. They are a little "scatterbrained" but they definitely know their stuff and are beyond helpful. Ask to talk with Ralph.
