Hello!!! Does anyone have any feedback on having their ceremony and reception at the Hershey Auto Museum? My fiance and I may be considering this location. Thanks for any and all feedback!

A friend's son got married there a couple of years ago. The catering was done by What If of Hershey. They were very happy with everything.

We are having our reception there in September.  So far the experience has been good.  My cousin got married there about 5 years ago and it was a neat space, I just didn't like their caterer.

We are using Events, etc. in Hershey for the catering.

I had considered it for our ceremony/reception site and went out there twice. I met with Mike or Matt?? We both loved the venue and I was impressed with their staff being very courteous and promptwith phone calls and emails. You get all access to the museum. They recommend cermony in the atrium upstairs area, cocktail hour on the ground floor, and reception (if large) in the bus museum downstairs. I want an outdoor ceremony, which AACA would accomodate on their grounds free of charge, but I would have to pay additionally for all the rentals. Remember that because Hershey Park  is "in season", many of the hotels had elevated prices. (Most of my guests will be from out of town) If you look for hotels closer to Highway 81 they got cheaper. It was a little expensive for us, especially once we calculated outdoor rental costs. It doesn't have a liquor license, so you will save money on that from your caterer. Good Luck! The sales manager's name is Mike...he is very nice and good about returning emails/phone calls.  We booked rooms at the Spring Hill Suites Marriot, which is located right next to the museum.  We were able to get a reasonable group rate.

The cost of renting the museum seems a little pricey but depending on what time of the year you have your wedding, it is negotiable.  Plus you can bring your own alcohol and choose your caterer so that saves some money.

All the tables, chairs, and portable bars are included in the rental fee.

Thanks for all the info! My finace and I have totally changed the pace of our wedding and are now planning a magical winter wedding! The look of the museum seems to be able to provide us with all the special wants we desire. We changed our date to Feb 2012. I am going to contact the museum within the next several weeks to see if they can help bring our vision to a reality (which I hope because my fiance is in love with the venue!!!!).

I will definitely post pics!  I believe Winter is a "slower" time for them so you might get a better rental rate plus it is not Hersheypark season so the hotels will probably have lower rates.

Thanks! That is exactly what our thoughts were. I work in the Hershey area so I am pretty familiar with how busy the spring and summer seasons tend to be.

Try JDK Catering if you do book the museum! They have these rentals called ice magic and that would bring your theme to life Goodluck!
