Eva's Bridal in Orland Park, Illinois BEWARE!

I just want to warn fellow brides about this shop because I am so upset about the way they treat people. This is the worst place I have ever dealt with and honestly it is a disgrace to the wedding industry! They keep getting away the lying and their rude attitude which is really unfair. I ordered my bridesmaid dresses from them in March 2012. They never told me when I had to order by until about three days before. They told me the dresses would be in the first week in August so we would have a month for alterations. When I didnt get a call around that time, I called them and they gave me a new date of August 24th. That would only give us two weeks for alterations! Then I called back on the 24th and the lies began. The dresses were not in, but I was told they were shipped that day. I was also told every single day the following week that the dresses were also shipped. They were extremely rude to me and gave me no help whatsoever in getting these dresses in. Honestly once they get your money they could careless when the dresses actually come in. I talked to the manager Hala, multiple times and she was so rude as well. They lied to me every step of the way and even tried to blame it on me! I got more information from the designer themselves, but by that time it was too late. My dresses ended up coming in September 4th and my wedding is on SATURDAY Septemer 8th! If anyone was smart they would not step foot in this place. Dont be fooled by half of these "good" reviews on here, they are CLEARLY fake. These people do not know how to run a business and they will treat you like crap. If you want your dresses to come in a couple days before the wedding...then by all means call these people!

I had horrible problems with Eva's in Oak Lawn, too. The manager (owner) was EXTREMELY rude to me and my sister......I agree...same owner, btw..

p.s. I wrote an honest, yet very unglowing report of them on Yelp...and somehow it disappeared.........interesting, huh?

The manager was beyond rude to me which was stupid because I refused to buy my dress there. She told me "we have other customers"..nice, huh? Stupid customer service attitude. not only did she lose my sale, she lost my bridesmaids and the MOB's, too....

In the end, I was treated WONDERFULLY by Volle's in Lake Zurich...who special ordered the dress from  the designer just so I could try it on because they didn't carry it ...I bought it there..It worked out because what VOLLE's told me (which I specifically ASKED at Eva's and they lied) was that my height would interfere with the design of the dress and couldnt be tailored normally. It had to be custom hemmed which is exactly what I suspected but Evas never mentionedd to me which meant either a) they would have suddenly come up with this expense at the last minute or b) I would have had a dress that looked completely wrong once hemmed.....not sure which is worse.

When Volle's heard my story about Eva's mistreatment, they threw in the custom hem for free......
  • Thanks for the heads up! I'm working on planning my 2nd wedding and have other people I know that are looking for their dresses for their weddings as well. It's too bad shops feel the need to be rude to people, especially when it comes to weddings. It's supposed to be a wonderful memorable day. What a way to run your business!
  • Loved Jenni at David's Bridal in Aurora!!  She was wonderful.  Great for my 4 junior bridesmaids also!!

  • DO NOT BUY YOUR DRESS AT EVA'S! I purchased my dress, and paid in FULL on 2/12/12 for my 12/8/12 wedding. I was told it would take 6-8 months for my dress to come in. I told Linda I wanted the dress by 10/1 at the latest and she assured me it would definitely be in by then. Well, 10/1 came and went so I called was told my dress hadn't shipped yet but would shipping on 10/12 and would be in 10/19. I wasn't really happy with this but I scheduled a fitting for 10/27. Come 10/24 I still never got a call my dress was in so I called and left a message. No one called me by late 10/25 so I called again and was told, "oh, you didn't get a call because your dress hasn't shipped yet." Yep, my dress didn't ship on the 12th and NO ONE called to inform me this. I asked the lady when will my dress be in and she didn't know. She had to have a manager call me on Monday 10/29!!!. So now, my wedding is 41 days away, I'm being told my dress is in China still, and I won't be getting a call about it until 3 days later. Come Monday 10/29 at 5pm I never received a call so I called. I was told Holla was in till 8 and would call me. At 7:40pm still no call so I called again and spoke to her. She told me my dress was shipping 10/31 and would be in 11/2. Thankfully, they called 11/2 to say it was in - and I picked it up today 11/3 - 35 days before my wedding. I had an appointment to try it on at 2:30 and by 3 no one had come into the room. So I went to the girl at the front desk who was sitting there doing nothing to say I'd been waiting 30mins. She came and brought me my dress - no one helped us get it on. It was snug and there was a small brown spot in the seam. I also asked for a solid garment bag they promised me one they were all out. And on top of all this the bridesmaid dresses are still not even in. Do not buy from Eva's in Orland Park - they are not helpful, rude, no one will ever call you back, and they expect you to pay for your alterations up front!
  • Like I said in my post, they were COMPLETELY rude to my sister and I......I refuse to even shop there for bridesmaid dresses and my mother certainly won't be shopping there..

They could have had ALL those sales too...their loss
  • AVOID this bridal store at all costs.  I went to this store on March 18th and immediately got bad vibes.  The bridal consultant said she was too busy to help me even though I had bad the appointment over 2 weeks before.  She then showed us to the storage room and told us we could look if we wanted.  Unfortunately for us we found a dress that I loved and decided to purchase it.  It is now December 7 and my wedding is on Dec 29 and I still do not have a dress.  I personally called the manufacturer of my dress after continuosly being told it was their fault and they seemed perplexed that this was going on.  They had no idea why I had not received my dress and personally called the store to find out what was going on.  I received a call later in the day from Eva's basically accusing me of tattling on them and still not providing me with answers.  Please don't shop here no bride deserves to be this stressed out during their wedding process!
