I checked on wedding wire for the limo company ( I found at the expo) and they have bad reviews. There are five good reviews, three bad one and two being verified. I guess a limo must be scatched again. :(

    How recent are the reviews? Have they had a change in management? Sometimes, I discount reviews if I feel comfortable with what I see when I meet with vendors in person.

    I don't even look at the reviews anymore. I am suspicious that the vendors just write a lot of them themselves (good ones for themselves and awful ones for their competitors). I would post on the DC/MD/VA area boards and see if any real brides can give you recs. That's how I found my photographer, and she's great!

    Yea I would definitely go on your local board and ask around.  Also go on yelp sometimes they have a more broad range of reviews from other customers.  Also what were the bad reviews? Didn't show up, wasn't clean, etc? I agree that wedding wire isn't the best place for reviews always.

    When I first got engaged, I started calling around to different DJ's...3/5 that I talked to bashed the other companies.  After that, I didn't want to deal with them.
