Wedding Review

I got married on 6-23-12 and in the months leading up to my wedding I spent a lot of time on these boards.  I've never really posted anything before but I felt as though it was only fair that I write a review in hoping that it will help other brides planning their wedding :)

Venue: The Links at Gettysburg
This is an absolutely beautiful venue inside and out.  I originally was against getting married outside until I saw this venue (I also loved that there was an indoor space in case of bad weather).  The wedding coordinator at The Links, Suzanne Thompson, was amazing.  She thought of every detail, was easy to contact and made our wedding go off without a hitch.  She truly made planning a wedding fun and effortless.

Dress:  Lilla's Bridal Boutique
I bought my dress here as well as the bridesmaids and mother of the bride and groom dresses were all purchased here.  The dresses all arrived on time and the alteration process went well.  The staff is great to work with.

Invitations:  Carpenter Invitations
I met Jodi who designs all the invitations at a bridal show in Lancaster (where she is based out of).  She was really easy to work with and really was able to see my vision.  I ended up ordering my invitations, programs, escort cards, thank you cards and photobooth cards from her.

Photobooth:  BullBQ
This was the hit of the wedding.  The guests are still talking about it.  BullBQ (don't let the name fool you-they also have a catering business) has very reasonable prices for their packages and I love that it included two attendants as well as props.  They also printed out two copies of all the photos and made up a guestbook for us (we were also given a flashdrive with all the pictures on it).

Photographer:  R Lawrence Photography
We just recently got our photos back and they are amazing.  Bob, the owner, is wonderful to work with and all of his packages come with 2 photographers (one being him) and an assistant.  This makes the process super efficient and really allowed us to enjoy the wedding.  He also started doing uplighting which we added to our package at the last minute and it turned out really nice.

Cake:  Karen Rodkey
The cake brought tears to my eyes it was so beautiful.  I loved it and it tasted amazing too!  We had three different flavors and every one was delicious.  Karen is very talented and can design whatever you are looking for.

Flowers:  Karen's on Country Road
Karen is awesome.  She is based out of her home and is very resonably priced.  I really liked the look of peonies but Karen said she didn't think she could get those for my wedding as it would be too late in the season.  As a substitute she showed me garden roses which have a similar look to peonies and I decided on those.  Boy was I surprised the day of the wedding when my bouquet had peonies in it.  She went above and beyond to find those for me and it meant a lot to me.  I was also unsure of what I wanted my centerpieces to look like but Karen is so knowledgeable that I felt comfortable taking all of her suggestions and the centerpieces (I had both short and tall) turned out beautiful!

DJ:  Mark Bowersox
Mark is an awesome DJ.  He is very knowledgeable about music and kept everyone on the dance floor all night.

Hair and Makeup:  Serenity Salon and Spa at Heritage HIlls
Andrea, along with another stylist, traveled to Gettysburg the day of the wedding to do my hair and makeup and my bridesmaids and mom's hair (the travel fee is very reasonable).  She is so talented!  At my trial a few weeks prior she really took her time and showed me different looks.  She was not satisfied with me just liking something, she wanted me to love it (which I did that day and the day of the wedding).  My makeup turned out great as well.

I was very happy with all of my vendors and would hightly recommend them to anyone planning a wedding.  If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me.  I'd be happy to help!
