NWR: Hosting Thanksgiving Dinner

How many of you ladies are hosting Thanksgiving Dinner this year? First time for anyone? This will be the 3rd year I do Thanksgiving in Ecuador with FI's fam. First year was a disaster foodwise (IMO) as I tried to replace US on hand ingredients, like canned condensed soup lol. Last year I thought ahead and brought some foods back when I went home for a visit. THIS year I got a lot smarter and found homemade recipes for many vital US bought ingredients yayyyy! So I'm excited, I think this year will be good :)

However, I'm curious to hear how some of you ladies might have hosted T-day in your home. FI and I live in a decent sized apartment for the two of us... but not so great sized for having guests over. Last year we decided to have it at our apt (as opposed to FMIL's house like the 1st year) and everything went pretty well. It was casual as people were sitting at our 4 person table and the living room (which is joined btw) but of course I would prefered a little more comfortable table setting situation. I read a lot of recipes and cooking blogs and I see usually people have 12, 16 etc people at their houses but what I don't get is how you seat 12, 16 people? So my other question is, how do you or your family usually work out big T-day groups??
