Marriage License

Hi Girls!

I'm from the Pittsburgh board and had a question about getting a marriage license in central PA. We live in VA and are driving to Fulton County or Franklin County because they are the closest to us.

Do we only need to take our licenses and know our social security number? OR do we have to actually have our SS cards?

I tried looking up information online but on those counties websites, I can't find anything about marriage licenses.

I think anywhere you go you need to bring your license and ssn card. We also brought both our birth cerficates. You should bring as much identification as possible. We are in Lancaster County, they asked us questions about our parents, where they worked, where they were born. It was a little overwhelming. I'm not sure if other PA counties do the questioning.

We just got ours in York last week, and the only thing you needed was your drivers license.  You needed to know your SSN, but didn't need a card.  You just needed to know info like where your parents were born, their birthday, etc.

I guess I will be calling my estranged father's parents eventually to get his info! I had no idea I needed to know my parents' information.

LOL... boy things change. I would also assume it depends which office you go to on how strict they are. When I got my license YEARS AGO you just filled out basic info like name and birthdate and a few simple things and signed your name. Nobody even checked or asked me for anything. My husband didn't even have to be there... Only one of us did.
