Tablecloth Ironing

Could anyone please share if they used a local service for ironing the reception tablecloths.  I didn't realize how great a task it is.

Re: Tablecloth Ironing

  • We did our own linens and the quotes we got for ironing were more than we paid for the linens ($10-$15/each; which helps explain why renting linens is so expensive).

We ended up doing two tablecloths a night the month leading up to the wedding. We threw it in the dryer, then hung it over one of the long curtain rods in our house and sprayed it with Downy wrinkle release and let it hang till the next evening. We used the steamer to get some of the more difficult "folds" out of it and then lightly folded and rolled it up around an empty wrapping paper tube.

Definitely a lot of elbow grease, but the tablecloths looked good they day of the wedding.  We took the steamer to set-up but barely used it.
