Help with Welcome letter.

I am trying to come up with my welcome letter.  I have no idea how to start it. I don't want the Dear family and friends because that sounds too generic. Would it be okay to just start the letter with  thanking everyone for coming and for the role they have played in our lives as to why they were invitied. I don't want it to sound too mushy though.  I am also including things to do around the island besides hanging out on the beach.  Any suggestions?

Are you going to give each guests the letter with their welcome bags? Or are you planning on reading it out aloud?

You could probably start the letter with how glad you are that everybody made it safe and how excited you are to be able to spend the special day (week?) with them. I think it is fine to include thanking them and why they all are special to you, but I'm not sure about explaining why exactly they were invited- just how special they are should be okay.

Add things to do at the end of the letter, probably.
