Did anyone go to the York Wedding Expo??

I was just wondering if anyone else went to the wedding expo in York yesterday??  If so what did you think of it?  My mother and I went and were both disappointed with it!  It wasn't as big as all the hype vs some other expo's I went to.  And they did the grand prize earlier than they had advertise.  And I thought it was rude of the vendors to start packing up before 5!!  Thankfully this wasn't the first expo that I have went to because I wouldn't go again!  With that said I'm looking forward to the one at the Lancaster Host Resort this Sunday.

I agree mommachev, I was expecting a lot more from the York expo. I had never been to one of those before, and I had heard a lot of people say how great the York Wedding expo was. But I was not prepared for how pushy everyone was going to be to get your contact info. I just wanted to look for ideas and find out more about vendors in the area that I didn't know about but I feel like I got conned into giving my information to vendors that I wasn't all that interested in. On a positive note: I thought it was really nice to be able to sample some of the vendors food and wine. That was a highlight.

I did go to it but it was my first one so I didn't have anything to compare it to. I also felt I was probably a bit too far along in my planning for it to be beneficial to me since I have everything booked except for a florist.

I also went. I found it very informative since I'm just starting my planning, but it was my first one so I'm not sure what they are supposed to be like. I also agree with the vendors unpacking really quickly. I wanted to talk to one of the DJs but they just handed me a folder and said that they had been there since 6:30 and wanted to go home.

I went to it last year, and it was much better in my opinion than this year.  Maybe it's because last year I had just started planning and this year I didn't need much.  Just beware, last year I got scammed by Chef World to go to a promotion thing at the Holiday Inn, so they got my info from the bridal show.  Other than that, you guys will get lots of e-mails from vendors.  But overall, I agree that it was kinda a bust.

I was there -- compared to the one at the Radisson in Camp Hill that was also taking place yesterday, it was great. The Camp Hill show's selection of vendors sucked in my opinion, and I left feeling really underwhelmed. The York show, however, gave me a huge selection of people to see, and I got lots of useful info.

I'm hoping to check out maybe 1 or 2 more before the big day, but with my venue providing a lot of things in their wedding package, I don't really need to check out all the vendors at most of these shows, so I'm torn.

I was there too! I've heard a lot of great things about the York Wedding Expo, but to be honest, I was disappointed as well. I've only been to one other show (at the Eden in Oct/Nov), but this one was much smaller and didn't have as much of a variety of vendors.

I went.  I didn't stay long because it wasn't very big.  I have just started planning and need to book EVERYTHING.  I was disappointed by how small it is, but I'm going to a few other ones that are coming up.

Thanks for the input, I was thinking that I was the only one who just wasn't wowed by it! I thought oh no am I starting to go Bridezilla already...lol. And yes I was hit with Chef World as well at the Eden show a few months ago and the FI fell for it!  So he ended up buying some cookware which I have yet to use ~sigh~.  Not sure if anyone has heard of Sundance they are a scam as well! I dealt with them a few yrs ago when I went to eh PA Farm Show.

The York Expo was my first bridal expo- I was very overwhelmed with the amount of people there. My MOH and I only stayed for an hour, I did get alot of information but am hoping the show im going to in Feburary in Hershey will be better.

I went to the one in Hershey last year since it landed just right for us (we like watching the Hershey bears play), not to mention I use to work at the hotel next to them (Springhill Suites).  It was a really good show, that was my first one that I we went to.
