Help me decide - Colonial golf or Cameron Estate Inn

I am trying to decide between 2 venues - I fell in love with Cameron Estate Inn but they dont have any saturdays left, and I would have to get married on a friday or a sunday. I have a ton of out of town guests and it would be quite inconvenient for them.

Colonial golf and tennis club has the perfect date - but I am not as in love with the venue or the menu there.

Anyone have any experience with either of those?

I'm getting married at the Cameron Estate on a Friday. But I actually wanted a Friday for budgetary reasons and because I wanted to get married in June of 2012, so I knew my options would be limited. It was the only venue I visited that I loved, so for me there wasn't any question. I've only been working with them for the past month, so I can't give too much of an opinion about dealing with them, but so far their service has been prompt and curteous.

If I were in your shoes, I would speak to a few OOT guests to see what their feeling is about attending a Friday or a Sunday wedding. Maybe some people would enjoy the chance to take a long weekend. You can also ask your parents and FILs their feeling about it.

Once you have a general idea of how your families feel about it, you have to rank your priorities. What is most important: having those OOT guests present at your wedding, having a venue you love, getting married that time of year, etc? Have you fully exhausted the lists of venues available in your style/price range?

    Good luck!

I was kind of in the same position you are in with picking a venue!  FIrst of all, I don't know much about either venue but I did check out Cameron Estate Inn and I did love it myself.  It turned out to be my second choice though because Riverdale Manor was just a little more of what I was looking for!

We wanted a Saturday originally because we have a lot of OOT guests as well but wound up deciding to have our wedding on a Friday.  I was worried about how our OOT guests would feel about it but they are super excited still.  They love the idea of a Friday wedding and are looking forward to the long weekend.  Personally, I think you should choose the venue you are in love with.  It's your wedding afterall!!

I love Cameron Estates.  I think a Sunday would probably ok.  Either way its going to be hard to please everyone.  You will have some people that would do a friday and some that prefer sunday.
Go with what you love and I am sure they will fall inlove with the place :)

I can't speak specifically to either of those venues, but I'm getting married on a Friday and 80% of our guests are out of town.  We've had the date set for 5 months and haven't had any negative feedback about it being on a Friday.
    Good luck!

Thanks Ladies - I really appreciate the feedback.

I dont want to be obnoxious about it - i do care about my guests and what is convenient to them. And my fiance is pretty adamant about a saturday for that reason alone.

But it is my special day and Cameron Estate just feels right.
