Where to find an officiant and how much are they?

Hi!  We're getting married at the Cork Factory Hotel in July and need an officiant.  I have no idea how much this will cost or where to begin to look.  Please help!  Thank you!

You can easily spend 350-400 on an officiant.  I am getting married in Lancaster too, and we are using Kelly Jo Singleton.  She was 225 (we got 10% off her rate, because we went to a bridal show), but I know that her rates are going up in the near future.  Her website is http://www.eternallightspiritualcenter.com/Weddings.html

    Good luck!

I just looked at her website and realized that the rates have gone up since we booked.

How I searched:  I went to different wedding websites and ran vendor searches for officiants and looked for advice from past brides.  My coordinator recommended another officiant and was able to negotiate to a price that we were willing to pay (ended up changing the time of our ceremony and then we could no longer use him).  Let me know if you have any questions!

I was just in this boat. I found it absolutely outrageous what some of these "officiant services" charge for a rehearsal the day before and a ceremony.  One place was almost $900! No way! I started asking around to friends and family to see if anyone could recommend their local pastors.  I finally found a Pastor in Seven Valleys who will be officianting my friend's wedding in May and now ours in June.  I'm not sure where you're located though.  Also he requires pre-marital counseling.

Chris Rodkey is very reasonable with his rates (these people who charge 400$+ are nuts!) and has been good so far with our planning.  His e-mail is cdrodkey@yahoo.com.  He is an all faiths minister and customizes the ceremony how you want it.

We used Shaun Hughes and paid $75 for the rehearsal and $75 for the ceremony.  He was pretty good too.  PM me if you want his contact info.

We are also using Shaun Hughes from Word of the Dove.  Same prices.  Our wedding is in 19 days, so we haven't seen his work of course, but talked to him several times and he is very nice.
