What is a special way to ask your friends to be a bridesmaid?  Any creative ideas that you've come across?

I'm buying wine glasses and painting their names on them with some pretty designs and then taking them out to lunch. I'm hoping that when they get their drinks the waitress will be able to bring them out in those glasses. I'm just going to ask them then. Thats the only special thing I'm gonna do.
