I got married on November 28 and thought I'd share some reviews with you.
Reception - The Publick House in Sturbridge:
The Publick House gets an A! Everyone there is very quick to respond and very helpful. The reception itself went very smoothly, everything was as requested, and the service was amazing. We got several compliments on how beautiful the place is and how overall they just do a great wedding. The only snag was that somewhere between the Publick House staff and us we lost our baker's cake stand and are losing our deposit for it. It was supposed to come home with our gifts but we haven't seen it and neither have they.
Limo - Eric's Limo in Worcester:
A+! The driver who took us to the airport from the reception was very nice and on time. The driver who took us to the ceremony was amazing! He fluffed my dress and train before I went down the aisle, he followed me around after the ceremony with my train over his arm, he was on time, and he was nice. The price wasn't bad either. I'd highly recommend them!
Photographer - KC Photography in Saugus:
A+! Kim was so awesome to work with. She truly cared about our wedding and she was so much fun. We got our pictures back two days ago and they are amazing. She does great work!
DJ - After Hours DJ Entertainment in Enfield, CT:
A! We picked After Hours after one of their DJs did H's office Christmas party. Our DJ, Peter, was really professional, very responsive to all calls and e-mails, and we had a great time at the wedding with him. He's so helpful and very focused on making your day awesome. The music was a bit loud during our first dance song, so I asked him to turn it down and he did and he kept it down for the rest of the night. I've seen DJs before that are rude to the guests or even ignore the groom's requests, and Peter was way better than all of them.
Hair and makeup - Rituals Salon and Spa in Leominster:
B. We all really liked our makeup, but I ran into trouble with one stylist who will really only do one updo. I brought in a picture of a hairstyle, she said "yeah we can do that" but in the end she did that one updo and it looked nothing like the picture. I switched stylists so I loved my hair for the wedding, but the bridesmaid who had this stylist for the wedding ended up with that same updo, looked nothing like the picture she brought in. Everyone else loved their hair.
Dress and bridesmaids dresses - Special Event Bridal Shoppe in Marlborough:
A. The service is great and they have a good selection of gowns. The only issue we had was that the seamstress did not want to bustle my gown the way I wanted. When my mom told them she was taking the dress elsewhere, however, they did the bustle the way I wanted and it turned out great. I loved it. Other than that, we were there a lot and we had great service every time.
Florist - Michele Bernard:
A+! Michele was amazing. Her flowers and arrangements are gorgeous and everything was exactly what I wanted. She has been the Publick House's in-house florist for years and years and years so they highly recommend her and for great reason because she does great work. She was very easy to work with.
Cake - Dianne Rockwell the Cake Lady in Lancaster, MA:
A+! I had had four of Dianne's cakes before our own wedding and her work was beautiful and delicious all (now) five times I've had her cake! It was exactly what we wanted and she has a fantastic selection of flavors. She can also do two flavors per tier if you're indecisive.
