Barns around Northampton?

I've only seen one good reception barn in the area, the Amherst Red Barn, but my wedding is incredibly small, only 30-50 people, so I don't need something quite so large. I want it to be a tad bit more intimate. Does anyone in the area know of some offbeat place or a friend who has a small barn in the area that they're willing to rent in June? Anywhere in the Pioneer Valley would be awesome!

Oh, whoops! Apparently there is a Rustic Barn post already up. All the replies I saw aren't quite what I'm looking for though, so maybe someone else has some input? Like I said, our wedding is going to be so small and I'd like it to be much more of an intimate small rustic barn.

The Quonquont Farm barn is a new wedding venue in Whatley. It might not be as intimate as you're picturing, but it's gorgeous! They don't have a very comprehensive website yet (it's still mostly info about pick-your-own and farm-related stuff) but the owner, Ann, is really good to work with!  http://www.quonquont.com/

From the pictures I've found it's totally gorgeous. I'm going to take a drive up there tomorrow to check out the orchards and see if I can talk to Ann about seeing inside the barn, as the whole orchard thing might absolutely sell it for me. Thanks for the recommendation!!

  • Have you had any luck? I may resort to calling a wedding planner to help with the venue search. Im in the same boat as you and would rather not venture to CT or the Berkshires. And I though the Red Barn was a little pricey for what they offered.
