Where do i begin

Re: Where do i begin

  • My suggestion is budget first.  Then guest list.
However if you are newly engaged take a few minutes to enjoy just being engaged too!
    Enjoy your planning!

  • The first thing you should do is sit down and discuss with your FI what kind of wedding you two want to have. A small, intimate affair? Destination wedding? Huge wedding with everyone you know?

Once you figure that out you should then discuss how much you can comfortably save between now and your wedding day. That will give you your budget then you can plan how many people you can host and start creating a guest list.

It will all start coming together from there because your budget and guest list will dictate what kinds of venues you can afford, how much you have to spend on various extras, etc.

The only Knot Tool I ever recommend is the budgeting tool. Once you've figured out your budget you can plug in the number and it will help give you an idea of how much you have to spend on things.

  • These girls are wise. We did our guest list first. This allowed us to actually have an idea of size of venue we needed. We visited a few venues above our budget and knew when we saw our venue that it was perfect pricewise and for us. Now we have a date. That's about all we have ; we will have a photographer this week but only because I know her from school. So I would start at budget and overall feel you're looking for. Then guest list and venue to figure out your date. Happy planning!!
I guess, to tell you the truth, I've never had much of a desire to grow facial hair. I think I've managed to play quarterback just fine without a mustache. - Peyton
  • speaking of the photographer, anyone having a hard time finding one they like?
I found one I love but if I wanted him, it would cost 3500. To me, that is a lot! I know you get what you pay for but geez!

This is the last thing before we take a planning break.
