Finding an officiant...how did you know?

I have almost all my vendors, but have had the hardest time picking an officiant. They don't have blogs and such like other vendors for you to get a "feel" for them and I really prefer watching a brief video of a wedding ceremony, but few have those too. I don't have to to have meet with several different officiants and the FI would really like a Rev. or Preacher (nondenomiantion is fine).

How did you know when you found yours? We're hoping to write our vows and I want someone very heartfelt, not just reading from a script.

Thanks!!!

I was doing a search for awhile, but then the Pastor at the church that I go to (on and off) agreed to do our wedding.

But when I was researching officiants, I would include what I wanted our ceremony to be like.  I'm incorporating the presention of flowers to the Virgin Mary, that some Pastors/Rev./Ministers don't like because it's a Catholic tradition.  This helped to weed out some of the people that mandate how the ceremony will go.

My Pastor, I love him to death.  He's very down to earth (Wears jeans to service) and gets what Barry & I wanted in our wedding ceremony.  He doesn't mind my little addition "Weren't we all Catholic at one time?" he asked.

You're just going to have to talk to them and let them know EXACTLY what you want.

We just picked our officiant and are very happy so far. I used this website www.abeautifulaffairoftheheart.com/" target="_blank">www.ABeautifulAffairOfTheHeart.com

Basically I sent my request in and what I was looking for. My FI and I had 2 different ideas of what we were looking for. They set us up with someone that they thought would match what we wanted. The Rev. contacted us to setup a meeting and we really liked her. We get to create a ceremony just for us and we can add or remove what we want. I hope this helps!
