Looking for a nice ceremony venue

We are not religious, so we won't be using a church and are left just looking for a nice place for our ceremony. I'd prefer something historic as they usually are beautiful on their own, but I can't seem to find any nice places that really fit that.

We've thought of the Tampa Theater, but I've had two friends get married in similar stage/theater settings and I didn't like the disconnected feeling from the guests that you have by getting married on a stage.

Anyone know of any great Tampa/St. Petersburg venues for a ceremony? Even if its outside in an orange grove, I just want the atmosphere to be pretty on its own.

It will be around 100 people, we aren't done making the list yet, and we are on  a bit of a budget, so no places that charge $5,000 unless you can have the reception there too.

How many people?  What time of the year?  Weekend/Weekday?

Try looking at Sunken Gardens, Nova 535, Isla Del Sol Country Club, Davis Island Garden Club to start with.  Sunken Gardens is really beautiful, has the historic vibe with all the gardens that have been there forever.

    Good luck!
