Vendor Reviews! 06/27/09

Hello my fellow knotties! It’s been awhile since I’ve posted on here.  My wedding was absolutely amazing!  Everything fell into place perfectly, and it truly was the best day of my life! I know how helpful vendor reviews were for me, so I didn’t want to cheat my fellow brides to be! Here they are (in no particular order): Ceremony:  Vineyard Community Church Chapel (Tri-County) – If you are looking for a simple, yet beautiful (and spacious) place to have a wedding, the VCC Chapel is perfect!  The chapel is perfect for wedding ceremonies.  To get married there, one of the requirements is to attend and complete their premarital counseling classes.  There are four classes, and they really do prepare you for marriage.  With the fees, they also provide you with a wedding coordinator.  The only downfall was that even though we used our pastor (and not the Vineyard’s), you don’t get any money back.  It is part of the rules, so we knew this ahead of time.  Overall, great place to have a wedding – they are very organized and truly make you feel prepared to say “I Do”.  A+   Reception:  Receptions North – What can I say, Receptions has a wonderful reputation.  We choose them because they handle everything from the catering to the centerpieces to cutting and serving the cake!  A+   DJ: Rhett Frambes with DJ Butlers – This guy is AWESOME!!!  At our first meeting, he made us feel very comfortable with using him as basically our “MC” at the reception.  He really kept things rolling with the order of events (receiving line, toasts, cake cutting, first dance, etc.) He is very personable and kept our guests out there dancing all night long.  A+   Cake: Tracy Bellman with Tres Belle – I know many of you knotties have used her or are using her, so I don’t need to go into much detail here.  She was wonderful to work with!  She is a true artist, but most importantly her cakes are delicious and very affordable!  A+   Photographer: Tori Lowry with Lowry Photography – Tori is the brother of the owner (Chris).  Chris and Tori both shot all 3 of my sisters weddings back in the early 90’s.  Photography has come a LONG way since then, but it was still neat to use someone we could trust and would produce quality pictures.  We have gotten our pictures back and absolutely love them!!  A+   Florist:  All About Flowers (White Oak) – If you are looking for a very affordable place to choose your wedding flowers, this is the place to go.  The interior of the place is kind of run down, but if you can get past that – I think you will be very satisfied with going with All about Flowers.  The woman who helped me (Jan) even put together a complimentary mock bridal bouquet and a mock bridesmaid bouquet.  This was really nice because I had peace knowing that the flowers were going to be beautiful!  A+   Dresses – Bridal and Formal – Both my wedding gown and the bridesmaid dresses came from Bridal and Formal.  The service was okay, but overall I was very pleased with all the dresses.  Hint: They WILL match prices, so go to a website like www.bestbridalprices.com – print the dress you want and take it to B&F.   A   Alterations – Gail Sommers (west side) – She may be one of the sweetest ladies I have ever met.  She did an excellent job with the alterations I needed to have done, as well as a few of my bridesmaids.  Her number is 477-7827   A+   Tuxedos:  Romualdo’s (Madeira) – Our groomsmen and ushers looked very handsome in their tuxes, but the groom looked smokin’ HOT!!!  A+   Hair Stylist:  Ashley Couch - Okay, saving one of my favorites for last.  Another knottie referred Ashley to me… choosing her to do my hair was one of the best decisions I made.  Not only is she very affordable, but she will come to your house instead of having to run off to the salon.  It made for a very relaxing and memorable morning/afternoon!  (See pictures below)  She did my hair, my bridesmaids, and several other family members.  I can’t tell you how many compliments I got on my hair!  Her email is ashhanacouch@gmail.com A+   I also want to plug my cousin Kelly Smith with Daphne Photo Studio.  I would have loved to use her as my photographer, but knew she wanted to enjoy my day instead of being busy taking pictures.  Kelly is extremely talented and super sweet!  If you are looking for the photojournalistic style, definitely check her work out!  She was kind enough to come over to my Mom’s house to take pictures of us all getting ready and took several pictures of my dress and veil.  She even took some pictures at the wedding and reception!  Her website is www.daphnephotostudio.com Below is a link to the pictures she took (as well as some she took during the wedding and reception). http://www.flickr.com/photos/kelly_smith_photography/sets/72157621179663100     Well ladies… Sorry so long, but I hope this helps.  Let me know if you have any questions!
