I need help :(

Hello, my name is Kim and I got engaged in April, we aren't planning to get married until October 23, 2010. Initially we planned a budget of 10,000 but a few unexpected thing have come up and I don't think we will be able to set aside that much. So far It looks like we well be able to do 8k but I have been able to get our favors, center pieces, invitations, save the dates, and BM gifts for $220. As for everything else I'm having some sticker shock... I live in the New Port Richey area and would love to find somewhere on the beach to get married. We have around 130 guests likely to attend and almost all of them will be coming from out of state so I need to find a reception site that is close to an inexpensive hotel. The only reception site I found within that budget charges $22/ adult and $13/ child. If anyone can help me with a better location or some money saving ideas I'd really appreciate it!

I got married at Honeymoon Island and also had the reception on the beach. It was so beautiful and they have prices that will fit any budget. My photographer was also only $800.

There is a small beach in Tarpon, called Sunset Point.  It is very nice and has a large pavillion...would that be something for you?  I have seen weddings done there before. I *think* you can contact them thru Fred Howard Park. http://pinellas.obsres.com/parkshelters/GroupInfo.aspxHTH!

We are getting married at The Beachhouse in Anna Maria Island. It is $500 for the deposit and to save the date but that goes towards your overall cost at the end. It is only $400 for the site fee which is due on your wedding day. It is $40 a person for the buffett (their food is great!) but they give you lots of options for the bar..since you are on a strict budget you could just have the guests pay for it on their own or just do wine and beer. They also can put a cap on it. They have lots of options and provide you with chairs, table clothes, and napkins..which helps. Our DJ is $950 for the ceremony and reception which is pretty high..but I did find one for $550 I think was the cheapest. If you want his name let me know! Good luck! It took me forever to find a location we liked and could afford.

I am also getting married at the BeachHouse Restaurant. I got the food price down to 30.95pp just by taking off the fish entree and ditching the conch fritters, shrimp, and chicken wings. That left us with PLENTY of food - fruit, cheese, veggies for apps, chicken and prime rib, and the deliceous pineapple and coconut bread. :-D We LOVE this place!!

Thank you all for your replies I really appreciate it! :) Ill definitely check those places out. The Beachhouse restaurant looks really pretty. Do you think they will be able to work the price down to around $22 or $23? Also, Rebecca321 who was your photographer?

I used Judson Brady. My package included 6 hours coverage, a disk of all the pictures, the rights to all of the photos, and print-outs of a lot of the photos. His website is Tampabayweddingphotography.com. I also received the disks of photos 1 week after the wedding. I can't say enough good things about him! My guests loved him and I get so many compliments on my photos!
