Harassing Vendors

Just started harassing vendors today especially the ones that didn't call me back or answer my email. I am seeing so many deals that I like I am sending requests to all of them so needless to say my FI has a lot of taste testing to do anybody else????

Re: Harassing Vendors

  • I've done alot of harassing of vendors myself. I've found that it helps to simply keep on it and they'll get back to you eventually....or you can just take the approach of "if they aren't being polite and getting back to me I don't really want to work with them." First and foremost you have to actually like the people that you are asking to be a part of your day as you'll be spending lots of time with each other. That's a piece of advice that a photographer my FI and I met with suggested and it's been really helpful.

  • Yea, Im not about to harrass vendors.. if they won't even bother to call me or email me back, they aren't worth my business nor my money.. AND I figure if this is how they treat potential clients, then thats not very good business etiquette.

I completely understand but when you hear and read such good reccomendations you just really would like to see what they are about and alot of times it's not that they are being rude it could possibly be they are that busy that they only answer emails and calls at certains times. My friend started a baking buisness from home and she only reads all her emails on saturdays and gets back to everyone all at the same time since she is so busy during the week. As you can see I am being so pathetic that I am giving them the benefit of the doubt I'm the worst. It's crazy because I could usually be obnoxious to bad service I have a really big mouth but I guess because it's my wedding it softened me a bit :-)

  • I just started emailing vendors to get a general idea of things but if they don't write back in a timely manner, I worry that when there is a big problem, they won't be available.  I don't think it's worth the time or money and there are plenty of vendors out there who are willing to do a good job of communicating.
  • I understand how hard it is to not haras vendors but coming from the planning side of things (I am a meeting planner) I know how annoying that can be.  Remember you are not these vendors only client!  They get tons of request a day and are currently working with cleints.  Following up is always important to do but make sure you are giving them at least 48 to respond.
