Bummed... :(

Happy Monday Ladies...

FI and I are in a huge dilemma at the moment. He's from Ireland and all of his family still lives there. I'm from the NE and all of my family still lives there. We have yet to pick an official date because we're trying to accommodate our families.

I want to get married here b/c i really don't have the time to plan a wedding from OOT. However, we've thrown out several dates we had in mind, most of which bordered around Holiday weekends so that they could make a mini vacation out of it, but we're getting a lot of backlash on it b/c it either works for one side or the other... But, none of them work for both.

I know that we should just pick a date but since 99.9% of our guest list is OOT family, we figured we would try to accommodate them as much as we could since we know it isn't cheap to travel with large groups, etc.

It just makes it really hard to solidify a location and everything else without an official date... I kinda don't know what to do... :'(

*sigh*

Pick a date that is good for you two. If you have to work around everyone, you won't figure out a date.

ditto previous post.  if people want to come they will make the effort, no time will be perfect for everyone.  It's honestly going to be a pain for at least one person no matter when you do it.  It's your wedding and you should plan for what you want to do.

Agree with pp...do what works for you and then everything else will fall together.

Ditto. I was trying to be very accomidating but whenever we settled on a date someone had something to complain about. Finally i just had to put my foot down and say "this is our date - we hope you can make it but we understand if you can't". Know what? Those very people that were protesting about the date RSVP'd right away and it's not an issue anymore. No matter what you do people won't be 100% satisfied so you might as well do what makes you happy.
