venue booked! dress question...

Hi all!

We have finally booked our venue!  We'll be getting married at the Grand Plaza Hotel in June :-)  I'm so excited!

Now I have a question about the dress... our ceremony will be on the beach, and the fiance insists on still being in a tux :-P  As for my dress, I've seen an awesome tea-length dress that I love (Alfred Angelo 1774NT), but will a shorter dress seem too informal next to my man in a tux?  What do you guys think?

I always wanted a big poofy wedding dress - and now that it's on the beach I keep going back in for between a shorter dress, a (long but light) dress, and the poof - help!  All opinions wanted :-)

I've seen a few formal weddings on the beach (if I come across those blog posts, I'll let you know). Go for the dress you want! I think a poofy tulle dress on the beach would be gorgeous!

I'm getting married at Grand Plaza in January, and I'm wearing a ballgown from alfred angelo! The guys will all be in tuxes. I really think it's up to you- short or long, ballgown or not- wear what you want!

Thanks guys!  I know in the end I'll go for the dress I want... I was just worried about the heat from a bigger dress I guess, especially our date is mid-June.

Yeah I'm pretty much going to die of heat on my wedding day on the beach in my big dress.  I don't care, it'll be worth it :)
