Just got engaged! 3/5/12

Sooo, after almost 4 years he finally popped the question!
I didn't think all of the excitement would come so fast. But man, I'm non stop wedding stuff 24-7 lol. We're planning for April 27, 2014. I have no idea what I'm doing so any advice would be great. Looking into venues in Tampa and surrounding areas, any pointers or good ideas please feel free to chime in, I'm open to suggestions. Happy planning and congrats to everyone!!!!

Congratulations on your engagement!

The thing to do first is to set your budget and guest list. This will help when looking at venues. You may also want to check out your month board. It is helpful to chat with others who are on a similar timeline.

Congrats! I'm also planning an April 2013 wedding here in the Tampa area. I agree, budget and guest list are the first things you should get. That way you can look at venues that can hold the ammount of people you want there and are within your budget! My FI and I are looking at a venue in Dade City now.

I found something nice in Dade City. The place is called Laurel Wood Gardens. My FI and I are going back there on Friday to finalize the contract and, hopefully, sign with them. It's an outdoor, woodsy, garden venue with extremely reasonable prices. PM me if you want any more information on the place.

Biggest #1 don't pick a bridal party until about 9 months OUT...friendships change.
Budget and save now so you can hunt down deals along the way.
