Marriage license in Pinellas County.....

I went on the Pinellas County website this morning to figure out what we need to do for the marriage license & was completely confused.  Can I apply online or do I have to print the form, complete it and take it to one of the branches in person?  If we have to do in person, do we both have to go or just one of us? I'm sure the answer is simple but I'm 37 days away from the wedding & have too many things swirling around in my brain to figure this one out.  Thanks for the help!

    >>Can I apply online or do I have to print the form, complete it and take it to one of the branches in person?

    You cannot apply online.
+ You print out the Marriage License Information Sheet, fill it out, and take it with you.
+  If you have kids, you ALSO have to print out the Affirmation of Common Children Form, fill it out and take it with you.
+  If you completed a pre-marital training course, you bring your completion certificate with you.

    >>If we have to do in person, do we both have to go or just one of us

Absolutely you both have to go.  You each have to sign the form in the presence of a certified officer of the court system, and you each have to take a legal oath administered by the certified officer of the court system.  This is a legal process that is serious.

The rules explained on the website seem pretty clear to me.  Here's the website I went to and some of the information found there:

Requirements to obtain marriage license in the State of Florida:

Both parties must be present when applying for a marriage license, sign the application form and take an oath to the truthfulness of the information provided.

Both parties must provide proof of the following:

    • Age: both parties must be at least 18 years of age.
    • Identification: in the form of a driver's license, state ID, military ID or passport.
    • U.S. citizens must provide their Social Security Number. Non-citizens may provide a Social Security Number or an Alien Registration Number issued by the Immigration and Naturalization Service. Also, a passport is an acceptable form of identification for non-citizens.
    • An application form must be completed. If either party has been previously married, you must note on the application how and when the marriage ended.
The fee for the marriage license is $93.50. This fee is reduced to $61.00 for Florida residents who have completed a premarital preparation course.

Thank you for the info Kristin - like I said, I'm sure it was simple but my brain is just not functioning lately as I am a little overwhelmed!  I really appreciate the help!
