Mixing & Matching Tablecloths

I need suggestions. I have done research over the last few weeks and have come to the conclusion that linentablecloth.com does have the cheapest prices on linen tablecloths, even cheaper than renting them! Ok, so here is my dilema, I was thinking to do linen on the food & drink tables, Head table & Cake table. Due to budget restraints ( we don't want to spend it, though we can afford to) we were going to do plastic tablecloths everywhere else. I am going to have 8 long tables set up as it is an hors d'ouvres reception with dancing only, not a dinner recpetion. I am afraid that it will all look cheesy with the combo of linen and plastic. Please ladies, share with me your thoughts and ideas on what I should do!

I would do the reverse if you had to cut corners, have the linen table cloths on the table where your guests are, and plastic on "Serving" tables.

agreed. i would worry most about your cake table, your sweetheart/WP table, and your guests tables. You don't want people's plates slipping and sliding all over the place.

I agree... the guest tables should have the linens!

I do like the others suggestions, but my mom asked me this one day, "What is the last wedding you  remember the linens?"

I couldn't answer. Linens are important, but not something everyone will remember.
