Time to tan

Okay ladies, I know tanning is horrible for you, and all that, but I still have a question.  I have light skin, light hair, light eyes, very pale.  I want some color before the wedding and I have 42 days left!  How long will it take for me to get some color?  I'm thinking of doing short sessions in a tanning bed so I can get a little color and not fry when I go to Hawaii on the honeymoon.  My FI is pale too.  Should we both try to get a base tan?  How long should I expect that to take?  Thanks!

I go for 5-7 minutes in the Platinum beds at Cinci Tan 3 days/week for 1 month prior to vacation. That should be enough.Yeah, tanning is bad. But it's just as bad as laying out in the sun and that seems to be more acceptable. You can always try Fake Bake or get a spray tan. It's what I've turned to.LOVE IT.

FI and I are also going to get a base coat before our hm.  He burns easily and I am white as heck right now.  We don't want to get burned the first day we are there.  I agree w/ Carrie, though.  Go a few times a week for a few minutes at a time and you should have plenty of a good base coat before you leave.  GL!

I started tanning about 2 weeks ago at Cincinnati tan.  I go in there Gold beds for about 10 mins. now.  But when I started I was going for 5 mins.  Usually if you ask the ladies at the desk they will reccomend a time for you.  I also reccomend to using tanning lotion so you don't get dried out.  I would buy a few packets from them to see which lotion you like but then when you buy a big bottle I would buy it on ebay.  I saved 50 dollars by doing this.  I use the Paramour by designer skin and love it.  At Cincinnati tan it's 75 dollars but on ebay it's around $20-$30.

Def get a base tan. The last thing you want is to burn the first day on your honeymoon and be miserable the rest of the trip. I know tanning is bad in all, but this one time... go for it :)I don't know what your schedule looks like, but try laying out for an hour on the weekends too. Tanning outside also helps tan places that the tanning bed can miss and not leave lines.

I am a redhead and very pale. I started tanning in march and am pretty dark now....I go in a silver bed for the max time now....I started out using designer skins "Smile your dark" it is a tanning accelerator!!! I loved it and it really helped me. I am now what they call an experienced tanner!!!! its awesome...now when I go out in the sun I don't burn!!!it is great. I will of course stop going completely after my nov wedding.

Sunscreen works well for not getting burned by the sun, too. Much safer.I worried about sunburn on my honeymoon in Utah/Nevada where the sun is very strong. I am quite pale, but sunblock did the trick. No burn, even when swimming in the middle of the day. So if you don't get the tan you're looking for, sunblock is effective and safe.
