Beach house/Budget

Hi everyone!

So I recently found what seems to be the perfect place for our wedding/reception. It's called the Sunset Beach House in Treasure Island. Has anyone heard of it/used it?

My questions is, I'm not sure once we start adding up costs that we will be able to afford it. The house is $4,000 to rent. We would then still need to pay for everything else - rentals, food, alcohol, lighting, music, ceremony etc. Do you guys think I could pull it off with a budget of $10,000? ($4,000 for the house, the remaininig $6,000 for everything else.) I should mention that I found a company that would do ceremony and pics (during ceremony and 1 hour after) for $1,500. So that leaves $4,500 for food/rentals/alcohol. Seems like it would be a little tight.

Any ideas to keep costs low and still accomodate about 80 guests? I don't want to do bbq or cook ourselves. I'm okay with ipod for music. We could probably buy our own alcohol. Any other suggestions?? What do table/chair/linen rentals run anyway?

TIA!

Have you looked into other photographers. Jason Angelini does a 10 hour day for 1195.

No, I haven't looked at all. The $1,500 is for performing the ceremony, music, setting up the arch and chairs, as well as photography during and after the ceremony. That sounds pretty good though! I'd still have to get an officiant and rent chairs and an arch for the ceremony. Wonder if that would be more than $500 or so? That way I'd at least get pictures for the whole day too!! Thanks!!

I know with my caterer (Olympia Catering) They rented the chairs and columns for me and that was about $200 on top of my normal catering (they even set up and took down all of this so my family and I didn't have to worry about it.) My DJ for the reception (Randy from Celebrations of Tampabay) also did my ceremony music so that was an additional $150. I know there are many DJs out there who offer officiant services as well so I would look into that, unless there is someone specific you are wanting to perform your ceremony.

Doing a wedding for $10K or under in WCF is VERY easy to do.  Best iof luck!

Thanks!! That's not expensive at all. =O) Makes me excited that we can actually pull this off. I've already paid a deposit for the ceremony - long story short we were supposed to get married in 3 months but postponed. So, don't really want to waste that money and they won't let us pick a new date more than 6 months out from original date. It may just be worth loosing the $300 if it works out cheaper in the end though.

That's where I had my wedding, and it was awesome.  We paid right under $10,000 for the whole thing.  We did a lot of stuff ourselves, though.  H's uncle BBQed all of the meat, and we got sides from La Teresita in Tampa.  I HIGHLY recommend La Teresita.  The food was awesome, and I probably should have cut the count I gave them in half, because their portions are huge.  They have entree stuff too, not just sides, but that's all we needed from them.  They're pretty cheap, too. I used Coast to Coast rentals, and they were pretty good.  I think their prices were average.  I can't recommend my photographer, because I'm very unhappy with how my pics turned out.  For music we hired a friend's band, Mojo Dragonfly, and they were awesome.  They're on facebook and myspace if you want to look them up.  Geez, sorry for the novel!

Thanks for the novel. =O) Great to hear you stayed under $10K!!! I plan on doing lots of stuff myself too, so I think we'll be able to pull it off. Yay!
