Question of the Day Saturday

What made you pick your wedding colors?

My wedding is all different shades of pink.  I never thought that I would want to use pink because I thought it was too girly when I was growing up, but I've always loved pink flowers.  When we got engaged everything that jumped out at me was pink, so I went with it.  Somedays I secretly wish that I went with shades of blues and more of a nautical/ beach theme.  It hasn't been easy finding pink/ beach things.

I let the actual venue (Columbia) inspire my colors and I've always known that I wanted black bridesmaids dresses. So my colors are red, black, and a little yellow.

I knew my FI wouldn't go for pinks or bright, fluorescent purples, so I tried to stay neutral with our tastes as well as try to incorporate our vintage theme, which is how we ended up with navy blue, lavender, silver and gold :) I'm not a fan of orange or yellow (it just isn't me) so dark blue worked well for us.

My guy actually picked our colors the first day we started talking wedding planning. He chose aqua and peach, which is perfect for our beach wedding. He said he wanted those colors since they remind him of a Florida sunset. :) The aqua in our theme has since kind of evolved into more a mint color...or a seafoam green. Either way, together it looks great!

We are doing purple and silver. My favorite color is purple and my FI said he was fine with it as long as it wasn't a light purple. We went with lapis from David's Bridal which has a blue tint to it. It's a really great color but was a little difficult to match to the table linens.

still going back and forth on an accent color but black brown and ivory will be utilized most. i don't know how we ended up with them really, but FI and i love black and brown next to each other. we picked ivory instead of white because i think white would be too harsh against such dark colors, and im not going to wear white anyway i'm far too pale for that. so far we have stuck with using sage to accent. not sure how it will all come together yet, but we have a while to figure it out!

My favorite color is green and his is red and those two colors together scream Christmas so we decided on just red, but I realized that too much red is to much so now we're going with black, white and red which I think will look really nice :)

My favorite color is purple and my husband's is blue.  Since I couldn't pick just one shade of either we went with the whole spectrum of both.  It was amazing and made it really easy to pick things out.  If it was blue or purple and we liked it, we got it.
