How to glam up a park shelter for a ceremony!

I am having my ceremony only at Phillippe park at a shelter that has a water front view. I was wandering how to glam up the area because they can not remove the picnic tables. Any ideas would be great!

You could keep an eye out for tulle on sale to drap over the rafters and pillars, or use the fabric coupons for Joanns or Michaels and get a sheer fabric to drape.
If the ceremony is at night you could get lights to wrap around the pillars as well. You could also use chinese lanterns to coordinate the wedding colors. Heres a picture of that

If you drape the rafters and get lanterns it will make it look really elegant Smile

I saw your post on DIY too, and now that I've looked at it online I see what a beuatiful location it is.  The natural scenery and landscaping is gorgeous and doesn't need a whole lot of glamming up IMO.  If you are just having the ceremony there, I would keep it simple.  Just flowers, maybe some shepherd's hooks down the aisle...

I agree with M1ssJ about getting table clothes for them. There are some really inexpensive vinyl ones that look like cloth or you could use sheets (sounds weird I know) but my friends cousin had a birthday party for her daughters 1st bday (first baby, so of course she went over board lol) at a local park and she attached ribbon to the rim of the sheets to match the color scheme and then put iron on rinestone appliques over the ribbon that had a cute wavy design. She also added ones that said princess and diva and birthday girl to the corners. I wish I had pictures because it was really cute and it gave the tables a little extra something.

TWo different tones of crepe paper (like a white and a sky blue) overlaid will cover those tables!

I'm not sure what you are trying to accomplish, but can you rent some plants to cover them up?

I would get sheets or nice fabric to cover the tables. You can buy those picnic table table cloth metal fasteners that clamp on to keep them on the tables. Maybe flower center pieces that match some of the flowers in the park and leave it at that. The park and view will end up being a lot of your visual. Other thing you can do is fabric from the top of the shelter. My ceremony is on the beach and my reception is in a gazebo in lovers key state park. One option they have is a fabric drape on ceiling. I am not doing it but it is pretty (they want like $250 to rent it). They do move the picnic tables for me so that makes a difference.
