Bridal Shower

Okay so i am renewing my vows at our 5 yr mark and i was wondering if i should have a bridal shower? I had one for our first one but 4 ppl came and didnt really do anything big! I doing everything over since our original was a disaster! Just wondering if u would be rude/stupid to have a shower! and YES i really want one, lol!

well a little more background is that the first wedding and everything was a disaster! I got most of my vendors off craigslist and everything just fell apart! Then the week before my wedding a fam. member died so just about everyone when to that funeral in another state on my wedding weekend! Most ppl didnt give a gift becuz they has to use everything to travel on short notice! So when i say disater I mean DISASTER!!!!!! and then my hubs family coulnt afford to come! So lots of ppl are suggesting that we renew our vows since most ppl didnt attend! Im having bridesmaids and all! Im going for a full wedding but i just have to call it a renewal becuz like i said we have been married for almost 4 years now!

Theses a little more background for ya! But i reallly do want opinions, good and bad!

If someone offers to throw it for you then, sure why not. But I wouldn't go out and ask for a shower by any means.

By saying you want a shower and the background information of no one brought you gifts it sounds like the whole reason you are doing a renewal is not for the sake of you and hour husband wanting to do it but more for what you are going to get from people coming (which isn't the way it should be)

ummmm def. NOT the reason im doing it! That was One reason my family members are telling me to do it! Im doing it cuz I would love my dream wedding and my family able to celebrate with me! since they werent able to do that before!

oh also (so i dont come off as a brat, LOL) My MOH asked if i wanted one but I told her no cuz I didnt want to come off bratty or selfish but i have been thinking about telling her yes for the last few days!  Okay i think i have explained all of my reasons for yes and no, lol!

If your MOH offered to throw you one then I would accept but let her know not to go overboard and to tell people that if they would like to bring a gift they can but its not required. I think that would be the best, that way you get the bridal shower you always wanted and no one will think you are just looking for gifts.

if you want one and someone offered to throw it, go for it! sounds like your first go around wasn't all you imagined your wedding would be and no one on this planet can tell you that you don't deserve the full experience. i hope you have a shower and i hope you have a blast!

well with all of the info you've given then yeah go for it! Register as usual but don't expect gifts. Shoot I would do it all the "right way"

Go for it!  Why not...just make sure that you allow your MOH to host it and take care of all of the details...and surely you will NOT look like a BRAT at all...LOL!

LOL, thank you for all your post! I asked a few ppl in my family and they said they would be upset if i didnt register and have a shower since they werent able to share that with me for whatever the reasons were! So, I told my MOH yes and I was asked for 2 different dates of when i would like to have it and which state! I said in TX since thats where most ppl live and I am excited i get what i want without looking like a total BRAT!!!! I have the best fam and friends
