Doesn't this just burn you!

I called a vendor Friday, June 17 and didn't receive a call back.  I called again on Tuesday, June 21 and she said "oh I didn't check the voice mail, someone else did."  What the heck?  I keep hearing economy blah blah blah and people are dying for business, so why don't they return phone calls?

Has this happened to anyone else?

Yes, it has happened to me many times. It seems like these vendors would be eager to get and retain your business, but many of them act like they could care less.

Yes! It happened when I was looking for a DJ and Florist. I contacted 6-7 of each for pricing and only half contacted me back via e-mail and 1 would call. Very surprising!

Sorry this happened to you. I'm just as puzzled as you are. I actually had a florist NEVER get back to me. Months later, after so many other vendors said "try her again, that's so unlike her," I wrote her once again. Her response? "Oh, I thought I responded to this on the 28th."

The 28th of what? I wrote you in February. 

And then, of course, she sent a quote full of arbitrary prices higher than anyone else's so she wouldn't have to deal with me. I don't know what their issues are. My wedding is on a Sunday NIGHT in February. That's extra cash for them that they are just letting walk. Glad they're so flush they don't need my money -- or my recommendation to other brides.

I had this problem after I booked someone. He would wait to call me back at odd times, like 10pm. You had all day to get back to me and you pick 10 and days later.

I had this happen with one caterer. Took months actually for them to get back to me. Then when they did, the prices were outrageous. So happy that I kept it moving and booked someone else
