Wedding Night...

So FI and I have been trying to figure out where we want to stay for our wedding night. We definitley don't want to head back to the apartment, especially because my sis and friend will stil be staying there that night. We also want something romantic. The problem is that we don't want to go too far from Oldsmar and we will have to stop by the apartment to drop off my dress before heading over to Port Canaveral to leave on the cruise. I (and FI once we are married) live in the Carrollwood/Northdale area. Any ideas of nice hotels that won't take us too far our of the way?  BTW- I really want this night to be extra special. FI and I are both waiting until marriage so it really means a lot to the both of us!

We were looking at the Safety Harbor resort but you have to pay resort fees, which would be no problem if we were going to be there longer. We are actually looking at the Westin now especially because I get a discount for being a teacher.

Downtown Tampa is not too far from Carrollwood and they have a lot of really nice hotels to choose from. My FI and I had looked at InterContiential. They took us on a tour of the hotels & rooms. I was very impressed. We ended up choosing another hotel just because FI's family had to stay in the Hilton chain with their points.

Maybe the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay? They have casitas that you can rent that are on their private beach. But no matter what you choose, I am sure it will be special. You guys have already done the hard part. A nice room is just icing on the cake!

I live just over the line of Oldsmar (technically Tampa) and if you don't want to try one of the hotels in Oldsmar (they're okay, but not memorable for your wedding, IMO), there are a lot of nice ones right by Rocky Point with views :)

Plus that area isn't too far from Carrolwood or the interstate to get to Port Canaveral.

P.S. We're leaving out of the same port the day after our wedding too :-)
