Tell me about your CAKE! :)

We still haven't decided on our cake flavors yet.  I'm wondering what you ladies are doing.

If you're having mutiple tiers, are you having a different flavor on each tier or all the same?

Tell me about your flavors/fillings/icing?

I'm totally overthinking this because I'm such a people pleaser and want everyone to like it, but we should get what WE want, right??

We did 3 different flavors so people have choices and did go with flavors that we liked. Dulce de leche, Marble with chocolate Bavarian, and strawberry chiffon and the outside of it will be covered in fondant.

Is your vendor providing another type of dessert? Our dinner comes with a chocolate mouse so we decided against something that had too much chocolate.

I have 2 servable layers (not counting the top tier for our 1 year anniversary)..

We're having almond cake with chocolate mousse filling.. Raspberry swirl cake with raspberry mousse filling..

and my surprise groom's cake will be vanilla cake with chocolate filling..

lol.. I would've prefered a chocolate cake for the Groom's cake buttttt, FI preferred the vanilla cake.

this is where i got super lucky!!  my mom actually decorates cakes so she is making our cake...  we will have a 3 layer cake, and we are not saving the top layer.

our bottom (and biggest) layer will be a white cake with fresh strawberry filling.
our middle layer will be a coconut cake with a chocolate and almond ganache (ummm, hello almond joy bar!! super delish)
our top layer will be a pumpkin cake with cream cheese filling.

    Yum, yum, yum!!

We are getting married in November, so I wanted something autumn-y.

Our cake will be covered in fondant and our design will be all white shimmer with a black damask pattern, yellow anenomies (not spelled right!!), and we have a wilton cake topper.  SO EXCITED FOR THIS!

We are doing a three layer circle cake.

The first layer is going to be raspberry amaretto with raspberry filling. The second and third layers are going to be chocolate with raspberry filling. I really LOVE raspberries, can you tell? YUM!

I'm thinking about doing a groom's cake...my FI is in a fraternity so I was going to have the crest put on the cake.

All this cake talk makes my mouth water. I have to admit that cake tasting has been my favorite part of the wedding-planning process. That said, we're still playing around with cake flavors for the different layers. I am mostly a chocolate girl, but I know I want a white cake/frosting combo for the layer we cut and feed one another. I actually saw photos of a bride who had dropped some red velvet cake on the front her dress and had a pink smear on her dress for the rest of the night. So be careful ladies!!!

    wow all those sounds delicious!!!!!

I am doing something different, saying nay to the cake.

Having a chocolate fountain and serving pieces of key lime pie in a dessert buffett instead.  All our guest are out of town, so they will appreciate the "florida" dessert!

We are doing a 6 inch top cake that is white cake with fresh cream and strawberries - so we have something to cut into.  Then we will be having cupscakes instead ( FI and I are huge cupcake fans) that will be one tier chocolate, one tier vanilla, one tier choc, etc. with creamcheese frosting.  Here is a pic of basically what it will look like:
