downtown tampa bride and knot newbie

I was wondering if anyone is getting married at the Marriott, Hyatt or Tampa Convention Center in downtown tampa. I have been to the Marriott and absolutely loved it but not the other two places and I was wondering what you thought about these facilities and what the minimums were for hyatt and TCC. Thanks guys:)

Which Hyatt? I am getting married at Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay and I think my minimum is like $12000. I love the waterfront area they have for ceremonies and it is really easy for out of town guests. I looked at the Hyatt Regency and really liked it there- they have a really cool place to have an outdoor ceremony, but my FI didn't like it. If you're looking downtown, you should check out the Sheraton Riverwalk. They had really good prices for catering. The only bad thing about all the downtown venues is the parking-- make sure you ask how much guests have to pay for parking or what you're charged for parking. It can be pretty steep!

Good luck and welcome to this board:)

Check the Tampa History Museum by Channelside. It's brand new and something different, but still on the water. Also the Columbia restaurant caters and I hear they have really good food.

We are looking at the Tampa Museum of Art. They have a show this Sunday 2/20. It is nice and on the river for a great sunset.

Thanks ladies for all the help... we decided on the Marriott Waterside we just fell in love with the Patio for our ceramony and the rooms where our reception would be. We checked out the Hyatt Regency and it was ok. Not what I expected....and the Westin just wasn't for us either, too complicated for this clumsy girl to walk down the aisle (there are tons of stairs involved). Anyways thanks again ladies:)
