An outdoor venue that is NOT a beach

Hi everyone,

I've been stressing out trying to find a decently priced venue for our wedding. My fiance is in the military and currently deployed at the moment so all the planning is up to me. :(

I was looking for a ceremony venue that is outside, preferably near water (but not on the beach!) with lots of greenery around it. For the reception, I am looking for an outdoor/indoor option. Something that has both; kinda like a covered patio area with the option to sit outside of the patio area to the open sky. I really wanted to hang those paper lanterns over the dinner tables. At the same time, I need to make sure I have a backup area in case it rains.

I found Cypress Grove in Orlando which seems perfect!!!! However, I'd like to stay closer to Tampa. And it needs to stay within my $10,000 budget. Anyone have any ideas???

Congrats to all the newly engaged. :)

Jen

Look into ranches.  The Lange Farm is BEAUTIFUL!!! I believe it is in Dade City.  There is also Barrington Hill on a beautiful ranch.  There is a banquet venue called Spartan Manor in New Port Richey that has an on sight outdoor ceremony area.  That venue is only 5 minutes from Sims Park on the Cottee River which would be beautiful for photos!!  There is the Florida Aquarium that has an outdoor deck on the bay and then of course their indoor venue space is beautiful right in front of the main tanks.....Lowry Park Zoo also does weddings.  They have a really beautiful inside venue for eating and then a connecting outside area that would be perfect to have your dancing outside.  I am a wedding planner and am pretty familiar with the venues in the area. We are so lucky to be in the middle of SO MANY AMAZING VENUES!!! Feel free to email me or visit my website.  www.bellaeventsfl.com

Karnes stables is about $1900 with horse drawn carriage and you can get married in the pergola or out in the fields. The price varies on how many chairs you need rental wise. Ellen the owner is amazing. They are in Lutz and do NOT require you to do your reception there or use their vendors. They have a stunning bridal suite too!

Thanks for all your responses. I looked into all the suggestions. All are sort of out of our budget with the exception of the Karnes Stable and Spartan manor.

Tough decisions. Rusty Pelican is kinda what I was looking for, but too expensive for our budget. :-/

btw it has a covered balcony outside off the boca ciega ballroom, . and it has 3 seperate rooms for your bridal suite and a place for the guys to hang out. the 3rd room is pretty big and if it happened to rain you could have your ceremony in there or you could have it under the building . it really is a pretty cool place. they provide you with the chairs and tables inside and 50 outside chairs if you want to use those, so you dont have to spend the money renting them! and the big wall in the ballroom is floor to ceiling windows, so you dont need a crazy amount of decorations.

I am having my ceremony and reception at the St. Pete Beach Community Center.  The location is perfect and the price is right!
