Lange Farm vs Crosscreek ranch

I am in LOVE with the idea of getting married and having my reception at a huge oak and an outdoor venue. However, my budget is only about 8-9 K.

The Lange farm provides tables chairs and is 3250.

CCR provides all the ceremony decor (drapery, center pieces, etc.) and is 3995.

I'd like to know if any of you have an idea of if these two places are possible and if you have any ideas for alternative venues?

PLEASE HELP!

Definately CCR if you are on a budget. I am getting married there March 27th, and for everything that is included you cant beat the price. I have been out there several times to see how they set up for weddings, and I have seen TONS of pictures. What they do there is soo worth the price you pay.

In my blog I have some pictures of CCR, so check those out and feel free to ask me if you have any other questions. I didnt  even want an outdoor wedding but fell in LOVE with CCR for several reasons- this is one of many posts I have written about CCR- and I looked at a LOT of places to get married.... most were WAY out of my price range. I was trying to stay under 10,000 for the whole wedding but that didnt happen but to get everything that we are getting at CCR for close to my budget is pretty good... I think the only other thing we are paying for is my dress (850), photographer (1100), Beer and wine (?$), fresh flower bouquets (600), and random other DIY projects like invites and favors.

Here is a breakdown of what I am getting and for how much:

wedding ceremony and reception including tables, chairs, cocktail tables, all decor including centerpieces, floral decor, lights, sheers, lanterns, candles and tiki torches = 4500.00

caterer- affairs to remember- 30 per person for buffett with appetizer, salad, two entrees, two sides, rolls, butter, coffe, soda and iced tea.

    DJ- 650.00

    wedding coordinator- 300.00

bartender- includes cups, ice, coke products- 200.00 (we bring our own beer and wine, and we can have a ready made liquor drink that they will serve)

wedding cake allowance- 300.00 ( anything more- we will pay for)

add that all up with tax and gratuity (which is included) is about $9500.00
Now I am having a Saturday wedding- I believe it was about 1000.00 cheaper any day other than saturday. so definatley look into a non saturday wedding to stay under budget.

Let me know if you have any other questions. But based on my reasearch, CCR is a steal for everything that is included... if you start with the base price at Lange Farm and then add on the decor, food, dj etc... it gets pricey!!

Sorry for such a long post, but obviously I am in love with my wedding location- and I am having my first planning meeting with the coordinator on monday- YAHOOO ~~

Also- CCR has you make a deposit, and then you can make monthly payments (interest free) up until 1 month before your wedding!! That helps with budgeting as well!! It made my and FI's life much easier since we are paying for most of it ourselves.

The only thing I can say about either of them make sure the caterer you like is either recommended by them or double-check. I had a co-worker get all upset about realizing she couldn't get the caterer she wanted since they weren't insured enough. But then again.....even I could've told ehr that much.

Sorry, I wish I was more helpful. I have a nagging feeling someone else I know is getting married at the Lange Farm in 2011 unless I'm losing my mind. If I hear anything I'll let you know.

Check out this new venue in Brandon. It is kinda a cross between CCR and LF. Casa Lantana 813-245-4105. Since they are new, they are very accomodating and willing to go the extra mile to make your wedding perfect for you. Plus, they will probably work within your budget.
The nice thing about Casa Lantana is that you get the huge oaks outdoors plus a gorgeous reception site indoors. Unfortunately with CCR you are outdoors the whole time which may not be a good idea if you have unfavorable weather.
