WANTED: The Perfect Venue!!

To All,

I am having serious venue problems, advice and recomendations are needed. I am looking for a wedding locations that has a ceromony and reception site on the same property, options of a indoor or outdoor ceromony, prehaps a long open room for the ceromony with high ceilings, tile, and large windows. The location must also be inclusive and provid set up aswell. I am looking for a romantic, renissance, vintage, italian style, . However, I have not found anything in my budjet. I looked into the Don Cesar and the venue is too large and you must have a min of 10,000. I plan on having a very intimate wedding and suggestions would be super helpful. I am willing to go out of state or throughout Florida. Right now I am in the Tampa area.

Have you looked at the Renaissance Vinoy in St. Pete or the Crosley Mansion or the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens in Sarasota? They are more affordable if you are going to do a small wedding.
There is also the St. Pete Women's Club and the Mirror Lake Lyceum but I'm not sure about them being all inclusive.

The mirror lake lyceum in St. Pete has a very vintage old hollywood feel to it. It's an old theatre that's been restored. The downside is that it is not all inclusive. You pay to rent the building, which I believe includes the tables/chairs, security/doormen. I'm pretty sure you've got to find everything else on your own. And the other vendors have to be insured. My Mom and I looked at MLL but, it seemed too large for my smaller wedding.

I'm getting married at the Rusty Pelican. It has a rustic vibe, not so much vintage though.

I am getting married at the Lyceum and I cannot say enough good things about it.  We are having both our ceremony and reception there.  It does include all the set up and take down.  The owner, Brian, is wonderful!  He makes you feel so comfortable and really knows his stuff.  The place is so ornate you don't need much decor at all.  You do need a caterer, but he has a list of preferred vendors that have worked there before (I'm ising Delectables and I am super happy with them!)

There is a cool bar area downstairs for cocktail hour that is like a 1920's speakeasy jazz club.  When your guests come back upstairs Brian and his crew have transformed everything and set up all the tables for the reception.  I would highly recommend calling him for a tour.  The pics on the website do not do it justice!  www.mirrorlakelyceum.com

Another option that is more Italian in style that is absolutely gorgeous (but out of our budget) is the Kapok Pavilion in Clearwater. http://www.kapokspecialevents.com/home.html

    Corbinsmine - Don't mind her.

Kristin - Some people actually don't pick their date until AFTER they pick their venue.  We didn't.  Besides, yours says "1/1/0001"...

Your posts are generally helpful, but you may want to work on your delivery.  Sarcasm is not a gift.

Vizcaya in Miami is amazing but very $$$. Deering Estate in Miami is also very nice, but I believe also very expensive, but not sue what your budget is.

    Bre,
    I really wasn't being sarcastic.
My DH and I are both teachers, and we agreed not to get crazy with wedding stuff until we were out of school.
Consequently, we got the ring and began planning at the beginning of June and got married in the middle of July.
So I totally know what it's like to hunt for a venue with a 4-week window, and that's what I was saying...

I don't know if it fits the look you are going for, but we had ours at Tampa Palms Golf and Country club and it was beautiful! The coordinator (jeanelle) was wonderful and I didn't have to worry about anything throughout the day. Our ceremony was "outside" underneath the patio and we had a wonderful view of the green golf course and the inside was great. If you're having a smaller wedding you can have the side room which overlooks the golf course.

    Good luck!
