Please help! looking for venue who is able to create unique vision.

I do not currently live in Florida; however it is where my fiancé’s family is from.  They are very willing to help any way possible…but I’m not sure they know where to start looking.   With that being said, I’m struggling to find a venue that will host both the reception and ceremony in the Tampa area.

Ideally, we’d like to say “I do” at sunset.  To accommodate this, as well as the appétit of our guests; we have decided that we would like to hold the dinner first, and then transition from the dinner into our ceremony, followed by a reception.

What I’m really struggling with is finding a venue that isn’t afraid to do something more unique such as this.  We have fallen in love with locations on the water such as Rusty Pelican.  It has a rusty, classy, “Florida” vibe.  They are refusing to work with us, so instead of caving, I am on the hunt again.

We’ve decided that venues who only host one or two weddings per day will be our best shot at making our dreams a reality.  While being married near the ocean is the goal, it seems unlikely as it is a traditional hot spot.  We’ve tried contacting Barrington Hill Farm (a plantation/horse facility), it is absolutely beautiful and has the rustic/classy vibe we are looking for.

However, we have had no response.  (Their voicemail box is full, and we haven’t heard back via email either.)

Does anyone have any local insight of something similar to this, or other ideas I’m completely over looking??  I feel as though I am on my whit’s end, and am about ready to cave on our dreams of our unique wedding.

Please help!!

You could try Tampa Bay Watch.  My coworker's brother had his wedding there and did something very similar.

These are not exactly in Tampa but try the Lange Farm and the Crosley Powell Mansion

What do you mean that the Rusty Pelican "refused" you?  That's one of the most popular places for WCF knotties...

She said they refused to work with them on their idea of dinner before the ceremony.

I can see how for RP this could be a problem since they generally finsih setting up the Reception room during your Ceremony as well as begin apps at that time as well.

Check out the Sandbar or their sister restaurant beach something on Anna Maria Island. They are both right on the gulf are highly experienced with weddings and have a reputation for being very bride friendly. Not so stuck in their ways. I've seen dozend of beach weddings there as I am at that beach alot and they seem to do a very nice job. They have a gazebo on the beach for small receptions and the restaurant and deck for larger ones.
