Wedding/Reception Venues

I have been looking at wedding venues for nearly a week or so and I have say it is a little discouraging when you are on a tight budget...Any ideas on budget friendly locations that can work for both the ceremony and reception in the Cinci area.  The guest number will be between 75-100 (still finalizing it!). Right now, I am looking at the Fairfield Community Arts Center, The Fitton Center and the Courtyard Marriott (the last two are in Hamilton).  Any other suggested locations or has anyone worked with either of the above locations?  I would love to see some pics if at all possible.  Any help is appreciated!  I would like to decide on a location and date soon (targeting September or October of 2010).

I've been to a really nice Pyramid Hill Wedding. I know that is in the same area, I'm not sure what the price was. But, since the wedding was outside, the bride cut a lot of costs doing things a bit less formal. Such as DIY fans for programs and 'wildflowers' for centerpieces. Also, there is Lake Lyndsay up that direction, but I think they are more expensive.

Thanks!  I actually went to look at Pyramid Hill - it would be very close and convenient...but I would be way too stressed worrying about an outdoor wedding.  I have looked into Lake Lyndsay as well and it would be wonderful...but a little out of my price range.

Look into parks... There is the Lakeside Lodge at Sharon Woods which is a smaller venue (perfect for your guest count). It is right on the lake with a beautiful pier. The inside has a wall of windows facing the lake. It is super cheap to rent, and you can bring all your own alcohol and any caterer you want, so it is very affordable for someone on a budget! If you can have your wedding on a Friday or a Sunday, you will save soooooooo much money!  Soooo many vendors offer discounts on non-Saturday weddings! Good Luck!

Thanks.  I have looked at a few parks...but not at Sharon Woods.  I will look into it!I have been thinking alot about a Friday/Sunday wedding...but find it very difficult because we will have quite a few out of town guests.  I am going to stick to Saturday unless I run out of options!

I am having a Sunday wedding at The Elements conference and event centre. The ceremony is in one room, cocktail hour is in another room, and the reception is in another larger room. You can email me if you want more info. brittnb006@yahoo.comThe website is:http://www.elementseventcentre.com/

What about the Muhlhauser Barn? It's in West Chester on Beckett Road I believe. I've heard it's really pretty and cheap.

Check out Tori's Station in Fairfield. I think they have their menus and prices online. Good luck.

Also, there is a nice/new facility at VOA Park in West Chester. I know a knottie on here had her ceremony and reception there. They have a gazebo on the lake...very pretty.

Thanks for the suggestions!  I am going to look into Sharon Woods tomorrow and I just ran across the Cincinnati Club...anyone know anything about the Cinci Club?  It looks pretty nice.

I'm not sure of your budget, but you may want to consider Receptions (they have a location in Fairfield).  They have a lot of different packages and are less expensive on Friday evenings/Saturday afternoons.

Careful about assuming an outside wedding will save money. I had an outdoor wedding last month. The tent, rentals, and permits cost $3,000 (even though we did informal, with wildflowers etc.)What did save us $ was having a morning wedding. Brunch or lunch cost 1/2 what dinner costs.

We had our reception at the VOA. It was very nice, although I would not consider it "cheap" at all. I would say it was moderately priced. You have to rent each room separately, including the gazebo. You also have to pay a parking fee for your guests per room you rent (or you can have your guests pat their own parking, but we weren't going to do that). They have a list of caterers you can bring in, but they charge the caterers a fee, so the caterers charge YOU more than other places. If you are on a tight budget, make sure you check on here to buy used items off brides and do your own flowers if you can (i did - look at my pics!) Lastly, if you have to have alcohol at your reception, finding a place you can bring your own in and paying a bartender will save you a LOT of money!! Lakeside in Sharon Woods will allow you to bring your own alcohol and caterer and they don't charge extra for the caterer. (I know Lake Lindsey allows you to bring your own, but there are no hotels nearby that we could find)

My mom just told me that the Anderson Township Community Center was hosting weddings for a VERY minimal price and you can bring in your own caterer! I guess it's getting quite popular, so you might check on it sooner than later! :)
