Shower ideas please!!!

I am the MOH for my best friends wedding in Oct. (in NJ)  She does not want a traditional bridal shower, in fact she wants a DJ and dance floor, lol. The problem arises that her mom is more traditional and wants a shower that will tailor to the guest, not the bride. Needless to say, the DJ is a no, and now the bride is stressing out because she doesn't want the traditional shower games.

So I'm seeking help to save the shower!!

Any suggestions on what sort of 'entertainmnet' I can offer than will please both? (i.e. unique games no one has seen before, something fun and modern but appealing to the older crowd, etc)

P.S. She has 90 people on the shower guest list

Ditto Krystal.  The best showers I've been to are those where people gather, meet and greet and eat and leave.  Those games where people team up to wrap someone in a toilet paper wedding dress are stupid.

And you should really talk to the bride and bride's mother about the guest list.  If the mother wants to host an engagement party, then she can invite whoever she wants, and apparently that's 90 people.  But a shower is supposed to be a more intimate group of BMs, the MOH, six or seven girlfriends who are not BMs, the MOB and grandmother of bride, and maybe three other older people who are friends of the bride's mom who have participated in the bride's growing-up years.  I've never been to a shower of more than 25 people.  90 is just greedy for gifts, and a huge financial rip for the MOH and BMs.

My FSIL's shower was not traditional.  It was coed, they had sliders and other apps, and a martini bar where the host's husband served drinks.  No games.  It was the best shower I have ever been to.

Krystal and Kristin- i totally agree! However, the bride doesn't and she wants all those people so whose to argue, lol!

Jben- sounds like a fun shower, def something I would want!

Try www.butlersinthebuff.com/fl such a fun idea!! You can tailor the "Kit" to your event so if there are guests that are a little more reserved you can cater for them plus its such a fun addition if your friend wants a bridal shower with a twist. Everyones happy good luck with the planning!!
